The 15th International Wheat Congress – Brazil 2008 will be held in the genial and hospitable city of Curitiba, where we expect to welcome a large number of attendees to this traditional event.

The theme of this year’s edition is “INTEGRATION OF THE WHEAT PRODUCTION CHAIN”, focusing on enhanced partnership and integration among the various parts of this important industry to increase efficiency in production and quality for the benefit of Brazilian producers and consumers.

As usual we will have a “Business Expo” showcasing the leading suppliers and new equipment, inputs and technologies of interest to the industry.

The program begins with attendee registration on Sunday, October 19, followed by an opening ceremony with an address by Agriculture Minister Reinhold Stephanes. Paraná Governor Roberto Requião will speak at the gala dinner on Sunday evening. The event will end on the afternoon of Tuesday, October 21, after the Abitrigo board meeting.

Several panel sessions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday will feature ministers in the federal government, state secretaries, senior officials in the ministries of agriculture, industry and trade, international guest speakers, and leading representatives of our own industry.

To members, staff, growers, co-ops, partners, suppliers and all other participants in the wheat chain, from farmers to distributors of finished products, our heartiest welcome.
